I am a self taught artist.  Having studied History of Art at St Andrews University, I enjoy putting the knowledge I gained there to use, as I experiment with various techniques.  I have tried to make up for not choosing to go to Art College, by attending various courses when possible, and I find that working alongside other artists and studying other people's work at exhibitions is vital.

 

Learning is a gradual process and I have slowly moved from watercolour, to ink and wash, to the Holy Grail of oil, which I am now beginning to really enjoy.

 

As an itinerant Army wife, I have been very fortunate to be able to live and travel all around the world and this has given me a wonderful repertoire to work from.  My home is in Dorset and I have exhibited at Dorset  Art Weeks, as well as in various foreign lands.  I have also been shortlisted for the BP Portrait Award.
